Whistler South is a unique area made up of
both old and new neighbourhoods that feature
everything from commercial and industrial to
single-family homes, employee housing and
prestigious residences. It is also where Whistler
Creek is located, which was the original town site
when the resort opened in 1966.
It’s most southerly neighbourhood, Function Junction, is the first you pass as
you enter Whistler. Known primarily as the resort’s industrial centre, Function
Junction also features an array of professional services, cafes, shops and galleries.
Function Junction will blossom as a community after the 2010 Games thanks
to the new Cheakamus Crossing development. One of Whistler’s most talkedabout
Olympic legacies, Cheakamus Crossing is currently being built prior to the
Games to house visiting athletes, and will be converted post-Games into a vibrant
community featuring apartments, condos and townhomes.
A bit further north, Spring Creek is a newer subdivision that includes a
firehall, and elementary school, as well as single-family

where it all began.
And as we go north, both Millar’s Pond and
Bayshores fall into that category. These subdivisions
offer townhomes, duplexes and single-family homes that are far from the
hustle and bustle of the Village, yet conveniently close to Creekside’s shops
and restaurants.
Whistler Creek is where it all began. It’s where the first lift brought people up
to experience Whistler Mountain, and it is where the world will watch the best
athletes in alpine competition during the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic
Games. Recently refurbished to its former glory, Creekside offers a pedestrian
stroll lined with shops and cafes, plus restaurants, grocery store, pubs and
Internet services.
As a piece
of the resort’s
storied past,
as well as a
vibrant part
of its present,
Whistler Creek offers a variety of housing options.
Here you’ll find a delightful mix of original rustic
cabins set right next to luxurious and modern
townhomes, condos and single-family homes.
Whistler Creek also features three exclusive
locales. Kadenwood is Canada’s first and only resort
neighbourhood with its own dedicated gondola
service, while Bear Creek features ski-in access from
Whistler Mountain, as well as simply stunning views
from across the valley. Nita Lake Lodge, Whistler’s
first and only five-star waterfront hotel, is also in
Whistler Creek.
The last of Whistler South’s subdivisions is
Nordic, featuring the Taluswood community and
exquisitely designed townhomes, duplexes and
single-family residences.
